Ballingslöv in Europe
Ballingslöv AB is one of Sweden’s leading manufacturers of kitchens and bathrooms, with our own production facilities located in Ballingslöv, in the northern part of Skåne, Sweden.
Since 1929, we have been producing high-quality products for the Nordic market — all with a high level of craftsmanship and full control over quality and processes, as every part of the company is managed from our small hometown of Ballingslöv. Here, 400 dedicated professionals work together — from product development to finished kitchens. With 65 concept stores and a total of 160 resellers, we are confident that our concept is attractive, profitable, and rewarding for our partners.Through close cooperation and personal relationships, we create mutual success.
Many of our partners highlight this collaboration as something truly unique about working with Ballingslöv — a partnership that is deep, supportive, and long-term. We are not simply a supplier; we are a committed business partner focused on sustainable growth and long-lasting relationships. For us, that level of partnership is natural — though, as we’ve come to realize, increasingly rare in today’s business world. Together with our resellers, we preserve and nurture that tradition.
Expanding Beyond the Nordics
Over the past 20 years, the growing international interest in Scandinavian design, our aesthetic expression, and the quality of our products has led to increasing demand for Ballingslöv outside our home markets of Sweden and Norway. Our product range and packaging of high-quality, beautifully designed furniture have proven to hold strong appeal in other European markets as well.
Our Products
Ballingslöv is a premium brand, offering tailor-made solutions for kitchens, bathrooms, and storage. With our long experience and well-invested production facilities, we manufacture both painted and wooden kitchens — but our expertise in solid wood and veneered kitchens is what truly sets us apart. All cabinet doors are produced at our factory in Ballingslöv. → Watch a short film from one of our production stations showing the veneering process here.
The Brand
The Ballingslöv brand has a proud heritage built on the values of quality and long-term trust. Our products are made to last — and so are our relationships with customers and partners, just as they have been since 1929. The story of Ballingslöv is a beautiful one, and we would be happy to share it with you personally. → You can also watch a short brand film that captures different parts of our business (available with English subtitles).
Current Markets Outside Sweden and Norway
Spain
We opened our first store in Marbella in 2018, initially targeting the Scandinavian community. The concept grew quickly, and after the pandemic interest broadened even further. Today we operate two additional stores in the Málaga region and continue to expand with new Ballingslöv concept stores in suitable locations together with the right entrepreneurs.
Copenhagen
Copenhagen is widely regarded as the design capital of Scandinavia — and perhaps of Northern Europe. Ballingslöv’s products and design fit perfectly into this environment. We opened a concept store in Copenhagen’s Nyhavn district in 2022.
Reykjavik
Reykjavik is the natural location for our presence in Iceland, serving design-conscious Icelanders with the latest premium kitchen, bath, and storage products. In close collaboration with our Icelandic partner, we continue to build success together.
Our Entrepreneurs
In these short films below, our local entrepreneurs share their experience of running Ballingslöv stores in Gothenburg and Copenhagen..
Market of Interest for Future Expansions
Northern Germany
We are confident that Ballingslöv’s products — especially our wood kitchens — would be well received in Germany. Our concept stands out from many local brands, and the close distance between northern Germany and Ballingslöv makes the region particularly attractive, similar to our successful presence in Stockholm.
Helsinki
A Ballingslöv concept store located in a strategic area of Helsinki would be a highly interesting opportunity for expansion. The city’s strong purchasing power, design-driven culture, and growing interest in high-quality interiors make it an ideal market for our premium kitchen and storage solutions.
Other Regions
Since we always establish together with a local partner who knows their city or region well, we are open to exploring additional areas beyond those listed here. If you believe your region would appreciate Ballingslöv’s products and concept — please don’t hesitate to reach out.
What Does a Ballingslöv Store Look Like?
Before any decisions are made, you are invited to visit us in Ballingslöv. Here you’ll meet our team, see our production firsthand, and — most importantly — visit several of our existing concept stores together with us. This gives you a clear understanding of how they are designed and operated, and you’ll have the chance to talk directly with our entrepreneurs about their experience running a Ballingslöv store.
What Do You Need to Get Started?
To open a Ballingslöv store, we believe it is valuable if you:
- Have experience in the kitchen or related industries
- Possess a strong local network and good understanding of your region
- Have sufficient start-up capital
The Process
Opening a Ballingslöv store abroad is, in many ways, similar to doing so in our home markets. We have extensive experience working closely with our entrepreneurs throughout this process. Everything begins with a conversation and a personal connection.

1. Contact Us
- The first conversation is about providing you with more information and determining whether the conditions are right for you to open a store in your local area.
- If the initial discussion is positive, we will schedule an in-person meeting or a longer phone meeting. This allows us to go through your goals in more detail, discuss finances and start-up costs, funding options, training, and more.
- We will also encourage you to visit a number of existing Ballingslöv stores so you can learn more about who we are and what we offer our customers.

2 Time to Plan
It’s now time to start planning how we will organize your business together — step by step.
- We will create a budget together, based on both our experience and the available data about your local market.
- We’ll set overall goals and develop a plan for how to achieve them, taking into account the local factors that will help your store succeed.
- We will also create a staffing plan, identifying which skills and roles are needed to build a successful team.

3. Signing a Letter of Intent
Once your budget is completed, we will review how our partnership agreement works in practice.
- If, after this stage, you decide that you want to open your own Ballingslöv store — and provided we find a suitable location in your chosen area — we will sign a time-limited Letter of Intent (pre-agreement).
- After that, Ballingslöv will work closely with you to find the right premises for your future store.

4. Location Search, Negotiation, and Lease Agreement
Finding the right location for your business is likely crucial to your future success.
- Ballingslöv has extensive experience in identifying the types of locations and surroundings that lead to success. We know what to look for — and hopefully, we’ll find the right spot quickly.
- Once we have found a location that satisfies both parties, we will help you negotiate the best possible lease terms.
- We will also assist you with store layout planning, selecting the right interior solutions, and calculating potential renovation costs. Together, we’ll create a detailed investment plan to serve as the foundation for your financing decisions.
- When everything is in place, the lease agreement will be signed, and your company will simultaneously enter into a reseller agreement with Ballingslöv AB.

5. Project Management and Construction
Once you’ve signed your lease and reseller agreement, Ballingslöv will assist you in building your store.
- Ballingslöv will manage the project and bring in the right expertise at the right time to ensure your store is completed on schedule.
- In parallel, you will begin your training program so that you are fully prepared by the time the store opens.

6. Training
To give you the best possible start, we’ve developed a customized training program covering all the key areas needed for success.
- For example, we will cover product knowledge, kitchen planning, design software (CAD), business systems and order management, sales and marketing, finance, HR, customer service, and handling of complaints.
- Training will take place both at Ballingslöv’s headquarters and at selected partner locations and existing stores.
- The length and structure of the training will be adapted to your background and level of experience, ensuring the best possible conditions for you personally.

7. Store Opening
With your training completed and your beautiful new store ready, it’s time to open the doors.
- Ahead of the opening, our marketing department will assist you in planning and executing a local advertising and PR campaign.
- You will have your own dedicated page on www.ballingslov.se, featuring text, opening hours, and contact details for you and your staff.
- During the opening, we will be on-site to support you and ensure everything runs smoothly.
